Hello Assumption Family,

This Sunday is the 11th Sunday of Luke.  On this Sunday we remember the Old Testament forefathers of Jesus as we approach His Nativity, especially Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  This commemoration is carried into this week’s gospel and the parable of ‘the Great Banquet’.  All of Israel was invited to partake of what God was preparing, however their earthly distractions kept them from partaking of the eternal banquet.  Let us imitate the forefathers, the prophets, the martyrs and all the saints in attending the banquet prepared for us by God today, the Divine Liturgy, while we anticipate His Holy Incarnation!

As you are aware, last Sunday we began our 2021 stewardship campaign.  Our most important goal for 2021 is to have 100% participation.  Pledged stewards are an essential part to the stability of our parish.  They provide a level of certainty to the continuation of our ministries, programs and services.  For those not using the online portal to make a pledge (fnbiz.assumptionem.org) you may place your pledge cards in the offering basket when you enter church or by U.S. mail. Thank you for your continued support.
